Texas Brothers Charged with Kidnapping and $8 Million Cryptocurrency Heist in Minnesota

Two brothers from Texas, Isiah and Raymond Garcia, are facing serious charges after allegedly kidnapping a family from the Twin Cities area and stealing $8 million in cryptocurrency. The incident happened last week in Grant, Minnesota, when the brothers are said to have held the family at gunpoint for nearly nine hours inside their home.

The situation began early in the morning when a member of the family was outside taking out the garbage. The brothers, wearing masks and armed with guns, confronted him, forced him back into the garage, and bound his hands. They then entered the house, waking the rest of the family and restraining them as well. Over several hours, the two reportedly threatened the family while demanding access to their accounts and cryptocurrency holdings.

The dramatic home invasion led authorities to launch an intensive manhunt, even causing the cancellation of a nearby high school football game out of concern for public safety. The suspects were tracked down and arrested days later in Texas, where they live.

Both Isiah and Raymond Garcia have been charged with kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and aggravated robbery. Authorities praised the swift efforts of local and federal law enforcement agencies in apprehending the suspects and helping the family. The case has left the local community shaken, raising concerns about targeted high-value robberies involving digital assets.
